As part of the Cultural Creativity Month initiative under the theme “Pride of Mongolia” we are pleased to invite you to a special talk: Visual Narratives of the Taiga with Ella Godfroy
The lecture will explore how visual representations of the Dukha homeland-now part of the Tengis-Shishged National Park and Ulaan Taiga Strictly Protected Area-shape public perception, often highlighting “wild” landscapes while obscuring the real challenges faced by the Dukha community, whose access to hunting, fishing, and grazing lands has been increasingly restricted.
About the Speaker:
Ella Godfroy holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts and is currently studying Mongolian language and civilization at INALCO (Paris). Through painting and video using anthropological approaches, she examines the place of non-humans within human collectives.
