The 6th Extraordinary Session of the General Assembly of the International Institute for the Study of Nomadic Civilizations was held on November 22, 2023, at the Mongolian Embassy in the French Republic. The representatives of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Turkiye, Mongolia, UNESCO, and esteemed scientists gathered to deliberate on the scientific and operational progress of the Institute.
The session, hosted at the Mongolian Embassy in Paris, provided a platform to review the annual report of the Institute. The deliberations included discussions on the need for continued research and analysis in the field of nomadic culture, emphasizing Central Asia and other countries where nomadic traditions persist. Representatives underscored the importance of preserving and promoting intercultural understanding and cultural diversity as vital keys to global heritage.
In a significant decision, based on the proposal put forth by the academic council of the Institute, representatives of the member states collectively appointed Dr. Munkhtuul Chuluunbaatar as the Director. Dr. Munkhtuul’s expertise and commitment to the field were acknowledged as valuable assets for the Institute’s future endeavors.
This momentous occasion reflects the shared dedication of the international community to safeguarding and promoting the invaluable heritage of nomadic cultures for generations to come.
